Flagpole Installation: How to Install an In Ground Flagpole

Flagpole Installation Step One: How to Install the Ground Anchor

First, create a pilot hole 12 inches into the ground by pounding a 1-inch or 1-1/4 inch dowel or pipe into the ground where you'd like to install a flagpole. Next, push the anchor partly into the pilot hole. Insert one pole into the anchor to adjust the anchor for vertical straightness. Then, remove the pole and use the socket setter to drive the anchor into the ground. Make sure that the anchor is about 2 inches above the ground. Use the anchor plug when the flagpole is not in use. Flagpole Installation Step Two: How to Install a Flagpole

First, you will want to connect pole pieces 1, 2, and 3 to assemble the 7-foot flagpole. To begin assembly, insert the cap into the top side of pole 1 and connect the bottom side to pole 2. All the clips have already been installed and are ready for the flag to be attached. Next, connect pole 2 to pole 3; the Honor Medallion will be attached to pole 2, the bottom of the flagpole will be pole 3. Once the ground anchor has been seated into the ground, you may complete your flagpole installation.

Dismantling Your In-Ground Flagpole

To dismantle your in-ground flagpole, you must first remove the flagpole from the ground anchor and remove the flag from the pole. Next, carefully break down the flag pole. Use a spade or claw hammer to remove the anchor by its socket, using a wood block for leverage. See the image below for help. Collect all of your ground anchors, flags, and flagpoles and return all parts to storage. Package them and organize them neatly in storage, so that they may be easily accessed in the future.
